  • Position Summary
    • Technical work in the delivery of electrocardiographic testing services including electrocardiograms, exercise stress tests, thallium stress tests, pharmacologic stress tests, SAECG's, holter recordings, telephonic arrhythmia monitoring. Must be proficient in monitoring vital signs.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Must have basic language and mathematical skills, working knowledge of cardiovascular terminology, physiology and basic knowledge of biological science normally acquired at the high school level and up to six months of specialized training, plus 6 to 12 months of previous experience as an ECG Technician I and previous arrhythmia training, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
    • License/Certifications: Must be BLS certified or eligible. Must be Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) eligible within one year of hire.
    • Experience: N/A
    • Must have knowledge of the fundamental theory, principles, practices, techniques and equipment used in all aspects of electrocardiographic testing and of fundamental isolation techniques.
    • Must have basic knowledge of radiation safety techniques.
    • Must have basic knowledge of drugs used in studies, their purpose, their effect on the ECG, their effect on the patient and adverse effects.
    • Must have the ability to maintain a sympathetic attitude and harmonious working relationship with patients, other staff and physicians.
    • Must have the capacity for independent judgement.
    • Must have 10-12 months of competency based orientation.
    • Must work effectively as a team player in a dynamic working environment.
