Summary

MaineHealth is seeking a new Vice President of Medical Affairs, Adult Ambulatory Services for Maine Behavioral Healthcare.
Maine Behavioral Healthcare is looking for an innovative and passionate administrative leader and clinician; one who can continue to transform outpatient adult behavioral health offerings to meet the evolving behavioral health needs of its communities, keeping quality care and patients at the center of the work. This is a primarily system-level administrative role with the opportunity for clinical and academic responsibilities.
The Vice President of Medical Affairs is responsible for assisting the Chief Medical Officer of Maine Behavioral Healthcare in the development and coordination of the medical/clinical philosophy of the adult ambulatory service line. This position will assist in identifying methods and ways of effectively coordinating and leveraging the array of psychiatric and behavioral health resources of all MaineHealth regions.
This role oversees the medical staff and clinical care of Adult Outpatient services, as well as those medical services related to Adult Partial Hospitals, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services, with medical directors of these respective services reporting to them.
This role works regularly with leaders spanning the MaineHealth system and is part of a close-knit colleague group that includes the VP of Medical Affairs, Adult Intensive/Inpatient Services and the VP of Medical Affairs, Child and Adolescent Services. This role will report to the Chief Medical Officer of MaineHealth Medical Group and have a dotted line reporting to the Chief Medical Officer of Maine Behavioral Healthcare.
The new Vice President of Medical Affairs of Adult Ambulatory Services should be a gifted leader of people and operations, with demonstrated success in coaching, advising, and navigating complex situations with competence and authenticity. This person should also bring strong communications skills and a diplomatic, collaborative approach to the work.

Requirements:

1. Education: Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
2. License/Certifications: Board Certification in Adult (General) Psychiatry. Eligible for medical licensure by the State of Maine.
3. 10+ years of experience practicing adult psychiatry.
4. Substantial administrative/management experience.
5. High degree of technical skills, evidence of leadership qualities, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
6. Maintains membership of Spring Harbor Hospital/Maine Medical Center medical staff and appropriate clinical privileges.
