Job Description

Summary

  • Position Summary
    • SMHC's vision is to provide safe, reliable, high-quality care to every patient at every encounter. To accomplish this vision, the Practice Manager must be a team builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary to ensure the practice operates efficiently. Emphasis is on providing exceptional customer service and continuous improvement in practice operations.
    • Oversees the day-to-day operations of physician practice and ancillary service. Overall responsibility for administrative, clinical, and financial operations of practice. Ensures practice operates in most effective and efficient manner, with emphasis on provider scheduling, patient flow, staffing, revenue maximization, and cost management. Works to enhance positive group culture and maintaining positive employee morale.
    • The incumbent is required to conduct all job responsibilities consistent with SMHC's policies, procedures, and in compliance with all applicable laws or mandates relating to patient care and business activities.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelors's Degree in Healthcare Administration or relevant field is preferred.
    • License/Certifications: N/A
    • Experience: Five plus years' prior experience in medical practice setting with full understanding of physician practice operations. Three years' supervisory experience is required. Healthcare setting is preferred. Experience working in a physician-led group practice setting preferred.
    • Formal process improvement training (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) preferred.
    • Strong organizational, collaboration, and time management skills required.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and/or make presentations to diverse audiences.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstration of critical and analytical thinking and attention to detail required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred.
