Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders is a full-service integrated treatment, research, and training center designed to meet the need of Maine families, generate new treatment models, and advance autsim science for the benefit of all. The Occupational Therapist-Developmental Disorders, works as a member of K-12 team in the Developmental Disorders Service. The Occupational Therapist-Developmental Disorders organizes and conducts a prescribed OT program through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activities in the evaluation and treatment of persons whose function is impaired by developmental and/or psychiatric illness or disability. These programs will be geared toward the achievement of optimum/maximal functioning, prevention of disability, and maintenance of health and wellness.
    • Therapist will work with members of the team to design and provide services that support the achievement of academic, behavioral, and daily living goals of students in accordance with the IEP and Behavior Support Plans and that will ultimately allow the student to progress towards achieving the Learning Standards.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy unless grandfathered.
    • License/Certifications: State of Maine licensure. OTR/L. Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
    • Experience: Experience working with individuals with developmental disorders, including children with autism and intellectual disability.
    • DOE fingerprinting required
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to adapt readily to change, work flexibly within a team, and work within a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
