Description

Through intensive, housing-focused casework and financial assistance, the Rapid Rehousing team at Preble Street connects individuals and families with permanent housing and resources, helping people quickly leave or prevent homelessness and find safe, stable housing. Preble Street's evidence-based Rapid Rehousing program collaborates with landlords and community partners to offer evidence-based, solutions-oriented services toward ending homelessness in Maine.

A Supervisor position is currently available with Preble Street's Rapid Rehousing team to be directly involved in assisting individuals struggling to find or maintain housing. Based in the Lewiston-Auburn area, the Supervisor will work to actively participate in and oversee casework staff that provide intake, assessment, case planning, linkage, referral, and follow-up with individuals while delivering assistance in maintaining housing in support of Preble Street's mission of providing low-barrier services to people experiencing homelessness.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with a Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30 pm schedule.

Qualifications

The desired combination of education and relevant experience for this position includes a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field; however, candidates with any combination of experience and education likely to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful in the position will be considered.

Additional requirements include the ability to lead, supervise, and direct the work of direct service staff; positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty; ability and motivation to successfully complete projects and tasks with limited supervision; ability to identify and understand challenges, objectively assess and evaluate information, and propose solutions; strong communication skills; understanding of staff management best practices and management core competencies; understanding of and alignment with Preble Street's mission; and commitment to providing low-barrier, high-quality services with a trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time (40 hour/week) position with a Monday-Friday schedule, offering competitive pay at $26/hour and generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits, including:

  • 4 weeks (160 hours, accrued) vacation time, 12 days (96 hours, accrued) sick time, 16 hours personal time, 12 Paid Holidays
