Catholic Charities Maine Asylum Seeker Transitional Housing Program (ASTHP) in Saco has an opening for an Administrative & Volunteer Coordinator.

In July 2022 Catholic Charities Maine (CCM) launched a pilot program - the Asylum Seeker Transitional Housing Program (ASTHP) - to support the successful integration of asylum-seeking families in Maine.

Definition: The Administrative & Volunteer Coordinator for the Asylum Seeker Transitional Housing Program (ASTHP) is the person who will coordinate systems and services for the CCM (Catholic Charities Maine) Director of Migration, Assistant Program Director, and clients. This position is part of a dynamic team providing support to adults and children seeking asylum in the US. This position provides culturally & linguistically sensitive customer service, helping coordinate residents, guests, hotel staff, and community partners. Will provide clerical support as needed to maintain program efficiency.

Salary Range: $42,450 - $45,000 annual. Actual starting salary contingent with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Should have a minimum of a high school diploma, GED or any equivalent combination of experience and training with the ability to learn the basic concepts related to the needs of migrants.
  • The position requires keyboarding skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Should have the ability to relate to asylum seeking residents with warmth and understanding and identify the needs of residents.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with other professionals and community members on behalf of residents, provide excellent customer service and represent the mission & values of CCM.
  • Cross-cultural experience is preferred.
  • Multilingual skills preferred. (Portuguese, French, Lingala, and Haitian Creole in particular).
