Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with up to 2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of RN work experience!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months' separation from employment.

Southern Maine Health Care's Orthopedic practice has an opening for a Registered Nurse to join their Total Joint Replacement team. The nurse selected for this position will join a team of 5 surgeons, 1 Sports Medicine Physician, and 10 Physician Assistants.

Duties for this position are varied and include the following:

  • Rooming patients
  • Triaging patient calls
  • Processing prescription refills
  • Assisting with surgery scheduling
  • Entering surgical orders
  • Providing pre/post op education
  • Assisting in the ambulatory OR if interested

For this position we're seeking an RN who enjoys functioning as part of team with the goal of meeting patient needs. The ability to assess and respond to patient calls is essential. Prior surgical experience is a plus, but all RN experience will be considered.

This is a full-time (40 hours), day-shift position. The schedule is 5-8 hour shifts during the Monday-Friday workweek. The practice is open 8am-5pm.

  • Position Summary
    • Assists with face-to-face and telephonic care and treatment of patients. Responsible for the delivery of care through the process of nursing assessment, planning and implementation. Promotes a smooth flow of patients through the office and helps to create a calm and supportive atmosphere, demonstrating the Values in Action with each interaction, at all times. Performs tasks as required within their scope of practice, paying attention to detail and accuracy. Conducts all interactions with patients and personnel in a courteous, respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality. The incumbent is required to conduct all job responsibilities consistent with policies, procedures, and in compliance with all applicable laws or mandates relating to patient care and activities.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: BSN preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing required. Current BLS required.
    • Experience: At least two years' experience in related field preferred.
    • The use and knowledge of computers, the knowledge of office procedures necessary, and routine laboratory procedures.
