Job Description

The LCMS group within the R&D Discovery and Technology Futures group is looking for an energetic Laboratory Associate to be a part of the LCMS Support team that drives biomarker discovery and characterization research utilizing mass spectrometers. This role will be critical to supporting ongoing analyses on these instruments. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced scientists at the BS, MS and PhD levels to support biomarker discovery and characterization projects. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who Is reliable and willing to learn new skills

What you can expect:

  • Perform wet laboratory work and analyses to process specimens, manage sample inventory, manage assay results, and assists in assay research
  • Document experiments and other lab activities, prepare reports and summaries, present results and conclusions
  • Order and manage necessary lab inventory including reagents, consumables, and other supplies
  • Interface with other LCMS teams
  • Maintain and communicate schedules and changes in schedules
  • Responsible for general lab maintenance and overall cleanliness of lab and lab equipment
  • Support and maintain various processes, systems and databases
  • Perform recordkeeping, data collection and analyses

What you need to succeed:

  • High School degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required, Associates degree or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), material safety data sheets (MSDSs), operating and maintenance instructions, instrument and software manuals, government rules and technical procedures
  • Detail-oriented and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to take initiative and be accountable
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong initiative and follow through
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Must be reliable - attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Must demonstrate a high level of customer service
  • Good computer skills: Microsoft Office 365
