Summary

Maine Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Outpatient Clinic as a Clinical Supervisor. The RN selected for this position will have the unique opportunity to work with an ethnically diverse group of adult and pediatric patients. The team consists of 12 clinical support team members comprised of MAs, LPNs, CNAs and CTAs and 9 RNs. Duties for this leadership role include:

  • Acting as a day-to-day resource for clinical and workflow questions
  • Sharing in clinical duties as needed
  • Providing orientation to new care team members
  • Assisting with care team members' on-going training
  • Supporting quality, and process improvement initiatives

This is a full-time, day-shift position offering 8-hour shifts between 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday.

The registered nurse we're looking for has 1-2+ years of experience. Although all clinical experience will be considered, ideally the RN has worked in a med/surg, pediatric, adult or ED unit where patient triage was part of the role.   • Position Summary
    • This position is responsible for supervising MA, RN, PSR staff within the practice.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: BSN preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure to practice in Maine. Current BLS certification.
    • Experience: 2+ years of RN experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and standards, medical procedures, tests, and clinical/clerical skills necessary to perform all functions and assist physicians. Knowledge of pharmacology is desirable.
    • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and other health care providers
    • Analytical ability sufficient to identify patients at risk and initiate appropriate action.
    • Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families, and to plan strategies for managing these situations when they arise.
    • Analytical ability required gathering and interpreting information necessary to resolve problems in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
    • Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite applications such as Word and Excel.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Proven experience in a customer service environment.
    • Skills in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising
    • Ability to maintain a professional manner even under stressful situations
