Job Description

The Senior Manager, of Global Reference Labs Strategy will be responsible for working alongside senior leadership to identify and frame key strategic questions for the Global Reference Lab business and facilitating processes to address them with a positive impact on the achievement of our business and organizational goals.

In collaboration with our Product Management, Customer Experience, Tech Scouting, and Innovation teams, you will translate customer insights, develop business cases, and integrate cross-functional input into recommendations for implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • You will wrestle with and solve ambiguous problems for our Global Reference Labs business, our customers, and the sector segments we play in.

  • You will interact with, influence, and build strong relationships with leaders across the lines of business and/or regions (Europe, Asia Pacific) to address priority strategy questions facing their businesses.

  • You will independently own discrete projects with accountability for the output and definition of implications while leading and driving analyses through collaboration and project management.

  • You will maintain and update key sector segment analyses, as well as frame and execute creative discrete opportunity analyses.

  • You will analyze customers, competitors, suppliers, distributors, technologies, and potential industry entrants to support ad-hoc Global Reference Labs strategy development.

  • You will develop statistical analysis plans collaborating with internal subject matter experts, applying rigorous statistical methods.

  • Develop strong relationships within the IDEXX network as well as with key strategic partners (as appropriate).

Education and Experience:
  • Degree in business or relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience preferred.

  • 12+ years of strategic and financial analytical experience.

  • Product management experience is an asset.

  • Veterinary experience is highly desired.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven collaboration abilities.

  • Strategic thinking and planning to ensure continued growth.

  • Strong negotiation skills (internal and external suppliers/customers).

  • Effective communications (presentations, correspondence, and 1-on-1 across the whole company at all levels).

  • Ability to analyze partnership opportunities.

  • Strong business acumen with proven ability to use key financial indicators to make business decisions.

  • Create/communicate vision among many regions/lines of business/functional groups.

  • Strong leadership/developmental/motivational skills with diverse groups of people.

  • Organizational and people development, performance management, and change management.

  • Ability to hire and develop people who will challenge the status quo and consistently add value to the organization.

  • Proven product marketing and product management abilities

Location/Work Environment:

Hybrid work arrangement with proximity to commute to Westbrook headquarters regularly.

General office environment.
