Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Ambulatory Nursing Assistants (CNA's):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Ambulatory Nursing Assistant/CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Maine Medical Center is searching for an Ambulatory Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support their IV Therapy practice in Brunswick, Maine.

In this position, the selected candidate will spend 50% of their time handling CNA duties including: chairing patients; taking vitals; recording height/weight; and ensuring a positive patient experience. The remaining 50% of the time will be greeting/checking patients in, and scheduling/rescheduling IV Therapy appointments.

For this role, we are seeking a CNA who is looking for a varied position and enjoys ensuring patient needs are met during their appointment. Comfort in using and navigating employee health record (EHR) systems is encouraged.

This is a full-time (40 hours), Monday-Friday position. The hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

  • Position Summary
    • Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks that are within the CNA scope of practice as defined by the Maine State Board of Nursing.. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. The CNA is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care in a team-based ambulatory practice environment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Ability to read, write and speak English in order to transcribe and communicate approved provider's orders at a level normally acquired through a high school education. Participates in ongoing education relative to role as defined.
    • License/Certifications: Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by State of Maine and be on the State of Maine Registry.
    • Experience: CNA experience 0 - 6 months. On-the-job training provided.
    • Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationship with patients, families, visitors and practice employees.
    • Knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and organizational structure of the practice , Maine Medical Partners, , and Maine Medical Center.
    • Ability to excel in a team-based care environment.
    • Maintain personal and professional records that include evaluation and validation of clinical competence/proficiency, continuing education, and any certification or verification of special skill sets.
    • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination.
    • Ability to maintain a professional manner.
    • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
    • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of the electronic medical record.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
