Job Description

Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Social Events Coordinator has the unique role of providing meaningful, purposeful and fun activities for residents across the Mid Coast Senior Health Center Communities. Recognizing that every interaction with a resident is an activity, the Social Events Coordinator plans and delivers a daily calendar of activities that incorporates individual interests and addresses the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident. The Social Events Coordinator will spend 70% of his/her time interacting with residents and 30% working on documentation, planning, organizing and implementing programs.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
    • License/Certifications: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activity Director Certified or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant; Valid driver's license and willingness to drive facility bus; BLS Certification required.
    • Experience: Must have experience working with seniors in a residential setting. Demonstrated understanding of stages of dementia. Must enjoy working with older adults. Flexibility, creativity, patience
