Job Description

Summary

Under the supervision of the York County Regional Medical Director or designee, the APP (PMHNP or PA-C) provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management services within an outpatient clinic setting. The APP will evaluate patients face-to-face and via telehealth and will work with other members of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare. Collaboration with the primary care teams of Southern Maine Health Care will be an important emphasis, as we work together to make our communities the healthiest in America.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Master's degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.
  • License/Certification: Current and valid license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the Maine State Board of Nursing and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Specific credentialing criteria are needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Experience: 2+ years of patient care as a Psychiatric Nurse Practioner in a community mental health center or hospital is preferred.
  • Advanced skill and knowledge of conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.
