Summary

Partial Hospital Program Supervisor

The Supervisor in the Partial Hospital Program has primary responsibility for the management and delivery of safe and effective patient care to his/her cases and for the day to day clinical and operational functions of the program. The Supervisor shares the leadership of the multidisciplinary team with the program physician and is jointly responsible for the coordination of services to the patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides consistent and ad hoc clinical and administrative supervision, consultation and support for social work staff; monitors and coordinates the day to day clinical and professional services; and supports the delivery of evidence-informed, evidence-based treatment.
  • Effectively maintains leadership in a group environment, promoting harmony, teamwork and solution focused problem solving.
  • Ensures documentation, service delivery and physical environment are in compliance with statutes, regulations and standards of external regulators, accrediting bodies, licensing agencies, the MMC/MBH Mental Health Network, and the hospital
  • Shares the leadership of the multidisciplinary team with the program physician and is jointly responsible for the coordination of services, and meeting budgetary targets and patient census
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of group dynamics and supports daily group facilitation; carries a small caseload and provides individual/family therapy, care coordination, and treatment planning.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) – “What you will need”:

  • Education: Professional level of knowledge of mental health systems, human resources, and organizational management generally required through a master's or higher level of education and 3 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • License/Certifications: Current clinical license to practice at the independent level in the State of Maine, including RNCS, LCSW, Ph.D., or PsyD.
  • Experience: See "Education." Knowledge of and experience with performance/quality improvement strategies and processes.
