Pika Energy, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems seeks a Sales Applications Engineer I to be based in the South Portland, Maine office. This role solves problems in the field, restoring customer confidence and improving product quality through close interaction with the CES product engineering specialist and product managers. Provides "Voice of Customer" feedback to sales and product teams. The Sales Applications Engineer will act as a conduit between the design team and the end users of our products (both external and internal). This position will report to the Director of Sales Operations for Generac Clean Energy Systems and will be based at the Generac CES offices in South Portland, Maine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Working with the Generac Clean Energy Solutions product engineering team to identify, diagnose, and provide reliable solutions for escalated technical and installation issues to assure complete customer satisfaction.
Travel to customer sites to help with complex installations and problem-solve field issues with PWRcell equipment
Records detailed information of service activities
Review CES training materials, manuals, and other new or updated technical content before published
Review engineering designs
Provide internal technical training of new employees
Identify regulatory barriers to customer success and mobilize internal resources (code specialists, product managers, product engineers) to quickly resolve
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
- At least 3 months of relevant work experience
- Ability to travel on a domestic and occasionally foreign basis (up to 75%)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience with Clean Energy Systems and/or Electrical Contracting experience;
- Intermediate knowledge of serial communications and connected devices
- NABCEP Certification
- Familiar with power electronics
- Exposure to Clean Energy concepts through coursework or projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and flowcharts;
- Basic understanding of electronics;
- Familiarity with the NEC
- Basic understanding of test equipment such as oscilloscopes and meters
- Experience in using Microsoft Excel and Word;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Strong time management and organizational skills
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
